1897 The Last Will and
Testament of Charles Boileau Templer.
When he died he was living in Handel House, Hill Road Clevedon, in the county
of Somerset, formerley of the Belgrave Hotel, Torquayin the county of Devon,
"I appoint Alexander C. Coutts Trotter of Bush Milton Bridge, N.B."
and his wife Alice Templer as executors of the will, leaving two £1,000
legacies two his nieces, and the residue to his wife. The neices were Mary
Cooper, widow of William Marsh Cooper late of her Majesties Consular service,
China, and Ada Scott, wife of Benjamin George Scott, also of her Majesties
Consular service in China. He also leaves "jewellery, watches, clocks, ..pictures, prints, books, plate, plates.."etc. to his wife. On the back of the document are a number
of company stamps, indicating that he had a number of exotic investments,
such as "The Oriental Gas Company Limited", "The Jokai (Assam)
Tea Co. Ld"and the " The Buenos Ayres Great Southern Railway
Company". Witnesses were Briscoe Hooper of Torquay and J.C.Shobbrook,
his clerk. The seal is present and grant of probate is attatched. Condition
is good. Dimensions approx 370mm.

All That the site of a messuage dwellinghouse shop and premises situate on
Castle Hill at Axminster in the County of Devon and near the Market Place
there lately destroyed by fire Which said dwellinghouse was bounded on the
north by the public Street on the South by the Stables of the 'Bell Inn' now
also burt down. The Indenture actually comprises of 2 Indentures and
altogether 3 parchments. The Documents
are in excellent condition and all readable.
There are 12 wax seals at the foot and the Document is signed by all
parties to the parchments, The largest parchment measures 30 inches by 24
inches and the smallest Indenture measures 24 inches by 15 inches. |
