THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 170 YEARS OLD HANDWRITTEN SIGNED AND SEALED WILL! IT IS BY JOHN HUTCHINSON, A MASTER MARINER OF SCARBOROUGH ( YORKSHIRE ) IT WAS MADE ON THE 8th September 1837 HE MENTIONS .....

JOHN HUTCHINSON ( his Son )

ANN CAPE ( his Daughter, and the wife of ROBERT CAPE )

FANNY ATHERTON ( his Daughter, and the wife of JOHN ATHERTON )

CHARLES ATHERTON ( his Grandson )

He also mentions TWO TENNAMENTS he has in QUAY STREET ( Scarborough ) One of which he now occupies, and the other being occupied by NANCY BOYES. He also mentions furniture, and there is also a Silver Watch which he leaves to his grandson. The will is signed and sealed by JOHN HUTCHINSON, and has also the signatures of G. D. SMITH Snr., and WILLIAM SMITH

( I have note saying that his son was the Rev. John Hutchinson, a Wesleyan Missionary who married in 1826 a Mary Oakes of New South Wales. This is from a modern handwritten ' Hutchinson Tree ' that came with this document, it has a few more names and dates than those I have already mentioned, and I will include it with this purchase. )  NB. Log into AUSTRALIAN DICTIONARY OF BIOGRAPHY ONLINE EDITION and check out FRANCIS OAKES ( 1770 - 1844 ) This is fascinating, and from it, besides much other interesting information, I discover that the Rev. John Hutchinson was the first Wesleyan Minister to be ordained in Australia. He married Mary Oakes ( 1810 - 1880 ) the third daughter of Francis Oakes, Chief Constable, she was born at PARRAMMATTA, New South Wales. They were married in 1826, and in 1832 he became Superintendant of the Female House of Correction in Hobart ( Van Diemen's Land / Tasmania ) his wife Mary becoming the Matron. Later she was put in charge of the Female Factory at Launceston.
