Lord
Viscount Bolingbroke & Lord Viscount Spencer are ancestors of both Lady
Diana Spencer & Winston Churchill. This is a genuine & unique
document from 1762 ( yes 243 yrs old ) bearing their seals & signatures
and it comes from a legitimate source – more info on that if requested .It
measures 30 x 25.5 inches & comprises 3 handwritten velum pages lightly
stitched at the bottom. It is in remarkable condition with no tears, but it
has been folded from new so there is a little scuffing at the corners but
with a little care it will flatten nicely for dislay. I would say it is
museum quality. Only one side of the paper is written on so it would look
absolutely superb carefully separated & mounted in 3 separate frames.
This would fill a wall in your study & it certainly has a story to tell !
An outline is given below – it is not easy to read because of the flowery
script, but that`s a fascinating challenge, so here goes………….. It is a
tripartite agreement / deed of release concerning use/transfer/rent/sale of
land & properties in Battersea & Wandsworth & refers to a sum of
£20,000 pounds in trust. How many million in todays money I can`t imagine.
The agreement is between The right honourable Ffrederick Lord Viscount
Bolingbroke, Baron of Lydiard Tregose in the county of Wiltshire (
Churchill`s ancestor ) & John Lord Viscount Spencer of Althorpe ( Lady
Diana`s ancestor ) & one Peter St.Hill The document also refers to :-
Henry, Lord Viscount St John,( pronounced ` sinj`n ) Baron of Battersea His
wife Angelica Magdelaine, Lady Viscountess St. John Their son, John St. John,
who married Lady Anne Furness Daughter of Sir Robert Furness / ffurnese of
Waldershaw , Baronet ( John St. John & Lady Anne Furness were the father
& mother of Frederick Lord Viscount Bolingbroke ) John Lord Monson ,
Baron of Burton The hon Richard Edgecombe of Devon Algernon Seymour, Baron
Percy Earl of Hertford Henry Furness of the parish of St George, Hanover
Square in the county of Middlesex John Wright of the parish of St Martin in
the Field Properties & land in Battersea & Wandsworth & Love Lane
in Wandsworth & Hogmore Lane in Wandsworth, Loam Pitt , Putney The seals
& signatures of `` Bolingbroke`` and ``Spencer`` are particularly impressive
