Rare English vellum indenture dated 1660 during the reign of King Charles II being the conveyance of a portion of several dwellings on Swann Alley in St. Buttoph without Aldgate in London between William Dimbleby of Surrey, a Leatherdresser, of the one part; and Mary Hayward of London, a Widow, of the second part. Beautifully penned with fancy initial letter with red wax seal pendant wrapped in paper on vellum seal tag. Nicely docketed on verso in Chancery Latin Script. The indenture itself is in English. London vellums dated before the Great London Fire of 1665 are rare. Fine condition, measures 21 x 17".

A beautiful English Vellum Recovery document dated 1739 during the reign of King George II featuring a most ornate printed header with large portrait of the King, Coat of Arms, and decoration. Penned in English script, the judgement before the Court at Westminster presided over by Sir Jogn Willes, a Knight, whereby William Marsh makes a demand of recovery of his property from from John Webb consisting of two dwellings, four garens, six acres of land, six acres of meadow, and three acres of pasture in Cobham and is granted such by this document. Two blue revenue stamps and vellum seal tag, lacking seal. Measures 31 x 25". Very Good condition

Offered is this three page vellum document dated 4 July 1884 plus a plan of the area concerned. It measures 10.75 inches long by 8 inches wide. It is between Charles Boyes Noel Snewin and Thomas Whiffen. It deals with the conveyance of Berris House in West Hill, Putney in the Parish of Wandsworth in the County of Surrey (now London). It has a plan of the area concerned drawn on the front page. It retains the revenue stamps and wax seal with the signature of Charles boyes Noel Snewin. A clean and well written document.

There is also supporting correspondence which mentions 38 Woodside with reference to indentures of 1887 (J H Silvanus and Charles Bewsey); of 1900 (C Bewsey and J H S Brown and M N Fuller); of 1919 (F B Bewsey and G J Hacker).

Here is a vellum Indenture dated 23rd March 1889 being a Conveyance of property in Stacy Road, Saint Paul, Norwich. The contract is between Matthew George Hunt of Norwich, Builder; and Kate Kent and her husband John Young Kent from Rotherhithe, London, a Bargeman. Other names mentioned are Fanny Cecilia Bolingbroke, Edward Heath, and George Thirkettle. This beautifully handwritten document measures 16" x 10", has four pages and bears three original wax seals and one revenue stamp. It is in excellent condition.

The Will is nicely penned with much religious content including asking pardoning for her sins and free remission. Names William III as the monarch. The attached Probate is partially printed with two blue revenue stamps and is of the diocese and in Latin. An attached wafer seal, the wax inside is crumbled. Very Good condition with will measuring 18.5 x 16" and the probate 7 x 6". (NOTE: The Vellum is docketed 1798 but the Will clearly states 1698 during the reign of William III).

Here is a scalloped parchment Indenture dated 4th March 1817 being a Release of property situate Broad Wall or Angel Street in the Parish of Christ Church, Surrey. The parties to the contract are Samuel Pepys Cockerell; Sir Francis Lindley Wood; John Kipling; Richard Ellison; Sir Robert Heron; Benjamin Philpot; and John Sheppard. This document has four beautifully handwritten sheets each measuring approx 26" x 23", incorporates a plan of the premises, and bears five wax seals and four revenue stamps. Good signatures including that of Henry Collier who was Butler to Sir Robert Heron. Samuel Pepys Cockerell was a famous London Architect and a descendant of Samuel Pepys. Sir Francis Lindley Wood shows his address as Bowling Hall, Bradford. John Kipling was a Clerk of the High Court of Chancery. Sir Robert Heron was a Politician and appears in the famous painting of the House of Commons by Sir George Hayter which is in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery. In very good condition although there is heavy storage soiling to the outside of the first sheet.

Handwritten English vellum indenture on one and one-half sheets of vellum dated 1877, being the conveyance of a parcel of land at Brixton Hill in Lambeth in the County of Surrey. The indenture features a hand drawn and colored plat of the conveyed property. The indenture is between Thomas Bailey Midge, an Esquire, of the one part; and James Hall of the second part. Nicely penned with fancy printed vignette, blue revenue stamp with insert, tax stamp, and two red wax seals on green cloth tags. Very Good condition, measures 26 x 22".
