A 3 page solicitor's copy of the
will of William Nicolls of the Borough of Stafford gentleman dated 2nd
February 1750. It refers to lots of
properties in Salop and Staffordshire.
William was married twice and his eldest son by his first marriage
"has already a reasonable provision settled upon him after the Death of
his Mother and if his Conduct and Behaviour deserves he will in all humane
probability be possessed for a large estate...". He mentions his younger children by his
second marriage and several other people. The cover is grubby and it is a bit
frayed at the edges. |

1701 WILLIAM III INDENTURE IN ENGLISH
ON PARCHMENT A complete indenture on parchment in excellent condition;
printed heading, remainder in a fine, very readable hand and bearing a wax
seal with signet stamp. The indenture is between Thomas Harris of
Kiderminster, Chandler and Josiah Baker, upholsterer of Shrewsbury for a
dwelling house, a large garden walled with brick and stable brewhouse
workhouse etc near Coventry Street in Kidderminster. Ground rent one
peppercorn payable on the Feast of Pentecost. The parchment is approximately
15" (37 cms) by 12" (31 cms) and folds down to a small parcel
3.5" (9 cms) by 5" (13 cms) and carries two duty stamps. The
outside is discoloured in proportion to its age of over three hundred years,
but the inside is clean and fresh. |

written on one vellum sheet which has a fine wax seal and a signature. There

Ltd 1893 A vellum lease on 4 sheets of vellum (2 folded sheets) measuring 24x40
cm and dated 30th June 1893, between Arthur Carthew Langdale and John

sealed land document dating the 4th September 1410 from the reign of Henry
IV. It is fully translated and refers the the grant of three acres of land
from Robin Dobles to William Dobles in Latin in the demesne of Castle Richard
near Ludlow. Please note UK buyers ONLY on this piece. The translation is on
the back of the frame and reads as follows- Know present & future that I
Robert Dobles son of Richard Dobles give, grant & by this my present
charter confirmm to William Dobles clerk three acres of land in the demesne
of castle Richard(castri Ricardi) in the field called Greneweyes Menede of
which acres two selions lie next to the land of Hakelittel & Greneweye
& extends unto the land of William Dobles in one head, & another
selion of land from the way called Wygemoresweye unto the land of Hakelittelm
the other acre lies between the land of Roger Medewe of the northern side
& extends itself to the land of saint John the Baptist, two selions of
land lie next to the land of Saint John unto the land of Hugh de Lyche, two
selions lie from the land of Hakelittel unto the land of the aforesaid
Richard Dobles, another selion lies upon Molewalles Hull & extends itself
in length from the land of Sibille Hauneys unto the land of William Dobles,
to have & to hold all the aforesaid land with its appurtenances to the
