Folded, vellum document 27" x 15", headed 'Fee Farm Rents of Thomas Trout 1760', listing 50+ different properties in Bristol. Information presented in seven vertical columns, headed: Original Grantors; Grantees; When Granted; Rents Reserved; Present Owners; Where They Live; Situation; Tenants Names. Although the city of Bristol is not named as the location it can be identified easily from many of the street names. Additional confirmation is provided by documents in the Bristol Record Office, referring to a gentleman named Thomas Trout being resident at that date. Much of local history and genealogical interest in a detailed, original document. Clearly legible manuscript text, neatly folded, slight toning but in good condition. 'Fee-Farm Rents' was a term which described a group of Crown revenues, amongst which borough rents were the most significant. The chief residents of a borough paid the Exchequer a fixed sum for the privilege of collecting and retaining the borough's revenues.  I have saved copies of the images, many names are visible.

They date from around 1790 (see details) and are in good condition for their age.

Three Orders of Removal, signed by magistrates.

1) Ann Lewis to be removed from King's Stanley to Rodborough. [1791]

2) Sarah Marston (?) from Bisley to Rodborough. [1791]

3) Esau Baker from from King's Stanley to Rodborough. [1785]

Two Vagrant Passes.

4) Daniel Evans from Chipping Norton to Rodborough. N.B. The Borough of Chipping Norton had their own two page printed forms rather than the normal unlabelled single sheet - presumably they attracted more vagarants! [1791]

One Order of Bastardy.

6) Against Elizabeth Lewis and Thomas Niblett (he was a 'Broadweaver' in Stroud) - Thomas was to pay 3/6 costs and 1/- a week maintenance whilst Elizabeth was to pay 6d a week unless she kept the child. The poor baby is not named! [1788]

One Summons for Examination in Bastardy.

7) John Hayfield, a weaver from Stroud, to appear before Rodborough magistrates to show why an Order of Bastardy should not be made against him for being the father of Anne Hodges' child. [1789]
