Will of Joane Chowne of St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, 1652

Memorandum     that Joane Chowne late of the parish of St Martin in the ffields in the County of Midd Spinster deceased did sundry times before her death in the month of May last past being in perfect minde and memory declare her last will and testament nuncupate as followeth or to the like effect in the presence and hearing of divers credible wittnesses vizt                   I give my wearing apparell to my two sisters      And I give the thirty pounds which is in the hands of my late Master Mr Cruttenden to my brother and my two sisters           And I give the fifteene pounds which is in the hands of Mrs Margarett Gellebrand unto the children of Mr Samuel Gellibrand namely Henry Thomas and Samuell Gellibrand to be equally devided amongst them   And my will is that the five pounds which John Whitman oweth me be remitted and forgiven him.      Wittnesses hereunto Obedience Gellibrand Mary Wood

 

The nynteenth day of August in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred ffifty two. Administration was granted to Edward Chowne the naturall and lawfull brother of Joane Chowne late of the parish of St Martin in the ffields in the County of Midd Spinster deceased having goods ?? to administer the goods chattells and debts of the said deceased according to the tenor and effect of the deceased's nuncupative will (because that the said deceased hath not nominated any any executor therein) hee being first legally sworne well and truly to administer  Exr
