Bedsteedle |
A low bed
running on trundles, or small wheels, which could be pushed under a high or
standing bed when not in use |

A bench |
Presse |
A large
cupboard with doors and usually shelves, for keeping clothes, linen, books
etc; sometimes placed in a recess in a wall |
Court Cupboord |
Open three-tier
structure of shelving, the two front supports usually turned and the cornice
carved; sometimes had a narrow drawer under the middle shelf. Later, doors
enclosed the lower tier. Plate, pewter and earthenware were displayed on it |
