vellum exemplification of a recovery for land in Monmouthshire c. 1581,
written in Latin in a good secretarial hand with an elaborate calligraphic
initial E and decorative top border in ink and plumbago, document in fine
fresh and legible condition with a portion (about a quarter) of the Royal
seal attached by original vellum tag showing the complete figure of the
enthroned Queen on the obverse and a complete Royal shield with crown on the
reverse. |

Monmouthshire, in good condition with signatures and seals. Bryngwyn is today
a small village off the A40 about five miles east of Abergavenny. |

Bundle
( six items in total) of letters and land tax bills and receipts, and a last
will and testament, for properties around the Kemeys Inferior area, near
Newport, Gwent, mainly concerning ‘Bullmoore Farm’ ( now Greater and Little
Bulmore Farms) dating from between 1753 and 1799. 1. Last Will and Testament,
dated 2nd August 1753, of Thomas Jones of Upper Bullmoore in the Parish of
Christchurch in the County of Monmouth, bequeathing, amongst other things,
the leasehold of his property in Caerleon to his great-niece Penelope Jones.
The document is browned in places with a loss of approximately 2 square
inches near to the centre. Thomas Jones has signed the will with his mark and
the will is witnessed by one Lewellyn Thomas, James Herbert Junior and (?)
Williams, as well as being ‘sealed’ with a wax seal. 2. Receipt for the sum
of £9:7s:0d, paid by a William Williams in respect of the mortgage for
Bullmoore, between 13th October 1755 to 6th May 1757.
Signed by Wm.Leys and witnessed by John Cobb and John Cobb Junior. 3. A
second reciept, as 2 above, for the sum of £120:0s:0d, in respect of a
mortgage on land at Lower Bullmoore. Signed and witnessed as above. 4. Letter
dated 16th February 1758, from Francis (?) Durbrow to William Williams,
Attorney at Law, concerning the transfer of monies regarding Thomas Jones of
Bullmoore. This document, whilst complete, is very fragile with much
splitting at it’s folds. 5. Certificate of the
Contract for the Redemption of Land Tax dated 15th March, 1799, concerning
the property at Bullmore, together with relative paperwork and receipt. Again
complete, but splitting at folds. 6. As 5. Above, dated 1st of March 1799, in
respect of lands in the Parishes of Christchurch Upper, Christchurch Lower
and Undy, near Newport. Again complete, with splitting at folds. |

his Grace the Duke of Beaufort in the possion of John Goslong, Mariner, the

and references to Chepstowgate and the Courthouse etc. GUARANTEED ORIGINAL
